1/2 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
3 cups sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup thick orange marmalade

Cream butter. Add sugar and continue beating until light and fluffy.

Mix in eggs. Beat in flour, baking soda and salt.

Add marmalade and blend.

Drop by teaspoonsful 1 inch apart on a well-buttered cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove and cool.

Cover with Orange Icing.

Makes about 3 dozen cookies.

Orange Icing
1/4 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons grated orange peel
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
3 tablespoons soft butter
3 cups confectioners' sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt

Mix juices and peels. Cream butter and sugar. Mix the two together and blend until smooth.

Add in salt and mix until spreading consistency.
